It’s contest time — the deadlines are Jan. 14 for books and Jan. 21 for everything else.
The contest is open to all APW members (professionals, retirees, students, life). The annual Communications Contest provides an opportunity to compete in a broad range of categories. For the 2012 contest, entries must have been published or broadcast between Jan. 1, 2011, and Dec. 31, 2011, otherwise known as “the contest year.” CONTESTANTS MAY ENTER UP TO 3 ENTRIES IN A SINGLE CATEGORY OR SUBCATEGORY.
Judges will make the final decisions whether to award a prize in a particular category. At the judge’s discretion, he or she may choose to award no winner in a category despite there being entries. Prizes may be awarded for first, second, third and honorable mention. There will be NO ties for each placement.
The NFPW national contest entry form will be used by the Arkansas affiliate. CONTESTANTS ARE ASKED TO SUBMIT THREE COPIES OF THE FORM THIS YEAR. All entrants must include their affiliate (Arkansas Press Women). (One form will be used by the state judges for comments; one form will remain with the state contest director; the other form will be a clean copy used by the state contest director to accompany entries to NFPW for national judges.)
